Biography

Matt represents companies and individuals in state and federal courts, arbitration, and government investigations across a broad spectrum of practice areas, including contracts, trade secrets, data privacy, partnership disputes, fiduciary, construction, employment, regulatory, and securities litigation.  Matt regularly represents business owners in contract, fiduciary, investor, and partnership disputes. In his real estate practice, Matt has represented developers, property owners, general contractors, joint venturers, and subcontractors in contract disputes, partnership disputes, mechanics’ lien claims, and other matters. In his securities practice, Matt has represented advisers, private funds, broker dealers, commodity trading advisers, and market makers in a variety of matters, including SEC enforcement actions, investor disputes, government investigations, and regulatory investigations at Chicago's financial exchanges.  Matt has achieved outstanding results for his clients in numerous jury trials in state and federal courts.  He has been appointed a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Illinois.

Prior to completing his JD, Matt worked for several years in debt, equity, and derivatives markets. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and his law degree, cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
